Album of the Year. The Grammys. Taylor Swift. These three things go hand in hand.
Taylor Swift is now the first woman to win Album of the Year twice, and she has definitely earned it with all the success she has garnered from the album, 1989. Swift is no stranger to the limelight and she has proven she belongs there.
Some were surprised to hear her acceptance speech. “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Swift said to the audience during the show, according to USA Today.
Some say this statement was directed at Kanye West for a derogatory line in his new song, Famous. In this song, Kanye claims he is the reason for Taylor Swift’s success. Swift also says, if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday you get where you’re going. This is good for Taylor Swift’s brand because she is not in any way bashing West, just simply stating the obvious.
Do you think Taylor Swift’s speech helped her image?
